CAMPING!
Yes, it's true, Mark and I went camping! And it was even his idea! I must say it was kind of weird to actually go camping without taking tons of gowns, jewelry and bellydance gear. LOL Oh, and no makeup!

Home sweet home! Yes, you see 2 airbeds in there, one for Mark and I and one for Bella.

Bella, "roughing it." LOL

The meadow below Mt. Hood. It was really gorgeous!

A bit of whimsy at one of our fellow campers' spaces. I couldn't resist snapping a shot of their lawn flamingos!

I have no idea what these are but these weirdly perfect little white flowers were everywhere.

And I just thought these were pretty!

This totally cool empty cabin would be my idea of heaven. I gotta get me one of these!

A boy and his dog.

This was SUCH a cool find! Right across from the big meadow is this tiny graveyard from the 1880's!

This is the only tombstone in it that's still even a little legible. Apparently an infant is buried here.

A very tired Bella on our last morning. We stayed two nights and she was at constant war with the chipmunk that lived at our campsite so when we weren't out hiking she was on constant alert for the terrorist chipmunk that dared to keep raiding our camp! LOL Poor Bella, her life is sooooo hard!

LATOURELLE FALLS
So yesterday we determined to again escape the heat (Saturday we went to the river but I forgot the camera!) and headed up the old historic highway to Latourelle Falls, a whopping 18 miles away from home. This was one of our stops at a sceneic lookout above the Columbia river on the way.

And this is the tree I spent most of the afternoon drowsing under! :)

Latourelle Falls... one of them anyway, there's at least 2 others.

This isn't actually a tombstone, it's just a cool memorial at the park we spent the day at.

Latourelle "fixer upper!"

We ended off the day with a brief stop at Mutonomah Falls on the way home. This is just the lower portion of the falls. Pretty gorgeous, eh?

Bella LOVES the water!

Wandering About

MY NEW HOME
Hi gang! It occurred to me that if I want to seduce as many of you as possible into moving out here to Oregon it might help to show you what you're missing! LOL OK, for you foolish diehards, this is just so you can see what I've been up to. Now that I've been here a year (a whole YEAR!) I'm finally starting to explore my new home. So here's what some of it looks like!As usual, Bella will be featured heavily! :) Above is a shot of Mt. Hood as we were headed towards it last weekend.

So here we are in the woods up on Mt. Hood and do you think Bella could be content with the sticks all around that were just lying on the ground? Oh nooooooo!

"If I can just get a better grip!"

"Perhaps I'll just wrestle it to the ground."

"Or maybe a flying tackle!"

The man!

"The stick is mine!"

Demon dog

I love all the water here!

A bit of a drop.

On the road towards Mt. Hood.

These next pictures are from the Columbia Gorge area, also very near where I live.

Just us dorks.

This was me trying to take a pic of the inside of the building above, which was sadly closed for renovations at the time.

The Columbia River. Is that gorgeous or what?

So, in conclusion... I miss you guys and I want you all to come here!!!
